Raptor is a classic, scrolling shoot-'em-up game, ported to Linux using SDL. The gameplay is very good when run on a full screen, and the installation is painless. Shoot down as many of the enemy ships as you can, and collect money and power-ups; then upgrade your ship between levels. If you like this type of game, or you used to play it under DOS or Windows, you should go ahead and give it a try.
